This edgy coat is adorably chic and cheap! Two of my favorite things. If the mustard color isn't for you, check out the black and white option for only $29.80. I really like the idea of tossing this over jeans and a tee for a weekend errands.

Shopping Blues II
On Sunday I mentioned that with the economy in the crapper, updating one's wardrobe with new pieces for the fall might not be an option for folks. So in addition to grabbing a few fashion-forward items at budget-worthy prices (see Shopping Blues post), adding updated accessories to the basics you already have might be a good Plan B. Items to consider include statement jewelry (think oversized cuffs and necklaces), purple shoes and bags, biker-inspired boots and bags, oxfords, and oversized clutches. Here are a few examples that won't break the bank.

Three Strand Charm Necklace - $50.00

Silver Cuff - $34.00
Truffaut Clutch - $75.00

Shopping Blues
With gas prices climbing, yet again, its hard to drop a bunch of hard-earned cash on revitalizing a girl's fall wardrobe. Plan A might be to mix a few trends into the basics you already have. Here are a few for less than $50 that might do the trick.
Go International Red Plaid Jumper - $39.99
Go International Shirred Skirt - $26.99
Go International Ruffle Tee - $17.99
Pebble Print Dress - $24.80
Kaelyn Sweater Dress - 22.80
Ruffle Neck Satin Blouse - $48.00
Ponte Pencil Skirt - $38.00
Split Neck Blouse - $29.95
Canvas SB Trench Coat - $49.80Thursday, September 11, 2008
The Gray Area
I have seen lots of suede boots and platforms for the fall and the more I see the more I think I want to roll the dice and scoop up a pair. Here are a few that I really like. Its not like I can really afford all of these, but its nice to daydream.

Leather Lovahs
I own one leather jacket. I love it to pieces, but I have never been a big leather lady. But I am definitely digging the leather bomber and military-inspired options that are big for the fall. I can't say that I have decided, but here are a few that I am mulling over:
KORS Michael Kors Walnut Belted Jacket - $375
Andrew Marc Leather Bomber - $315
Kookai Leather Bomber - $351.54
Asos Pintucked Bomber - $158.10
Ted Baker Bomber - $548.70
Calvin Klein Leather Scuba Jacket - $298.00
Kenneth Cole Reaction Short Jacket - $338.00
The Most Versatile Piece
I am over the moon for this jersey cardigan by C&C California. It works by just throwing it on, wrapping it around the back of your waist, knotting it in front, or even swinging it up and around your shoulder. I just ordered this one from Shopbop in black and think it will be a piece I live in as the weather starts to cool off (at least until I can bust out my thicker knits).
