Savvy Sale Pieces

Sadly I awoke way too early this morning and decided to use my early morning to scan sites for some online sales. The trick to buying sale items at this time of year is finding pieces that will can work for the early fall or that will work when spring comes back around. Here are a few items that can function for fall and end-of-summer prices.

Floral Splatter Grab

This edgy coat is adorably chic and cheap! Two of my favorite things. If the mustard color isn't for you, check out the black and white option for only $29.80. I really like the idea of tossing this over jeans and a tee for a weekend errands.

Shopping Blues

With gas prices climbing, yet again, its hard to drop a bunch of hard-earned cash on revitalizing a girl's fall wardrobe. Plan A might be to mix a few trends into the basics you already have. Here are a few for less than $50 that might do the trick.

Leather Lovahs

I own one leather jacket. I love it to pieces, but I have never been a big leather lady. But I am definitely digging the leather bomber and military-inspired options that are big for the fall. I can't say that I have decided, but here are a few that I am mulling over:

KORS Michael Kors Walnut Belted Jacket - $375

Andrew Marc Leather Bomber - $315

Kookai Leather Bomber - $351.54

Asos Pintucked Bomber - $158.10

Ted Baker Bomber - $548.70

Calvin Klein Leather Scuba Jacket - $298.00

Kenneth Cole Reaction Short Jacket - $338.00

Fall into the Gap

I tend to be a bit of a fickle shopper in that I can get pretty excited a ton of items from a particular designer or store and then the next season not like a thing. The Gap is proving to be one that I am super excited about this fall. I think Patrick Robinson has really add some edge and fun to the classics you expect from the Gap. Because to be honest, its been a while since I haven't thought the Gap was a bit too dull for my taste. Here are a few of my faves that I have seen:

Michael Kors Safari Jacket

I remember seeing this Michael Kors jacket early in the spring and now my patience has paid off, because its on sale for $83.90 (that's 50% off). My affection for all that is safari inspired has been stated enough on this blog, but how great would this be with the Milly Chain Halter?

Puff Sleeve Jacket at the Gap

I am really liking what the Gap has to offer this summer. And I am really big on light-weight jackets, especially since I happen to work in an office that keeps it a little too chilly for my liking. Jackets are the best topper for me to keep more warm and still be a key part of my outfit. With this puff-sleeve jacket, it was love at first sight.

Safari Cotton Jacket

Looking for an inexpensive topper for your shorts and skirts this summer? This Safari jacket at Forever 21 might be worth a look. Its only $22.80. Don't worry the belt can be tossed so you can add your own.

BDG Denim Jacket

I pulled out my old jean jacket recently and there was something just not right about the fit anymore. It wasn't tailored enough and was a little too roomy through the torso. However, this jacket at Urban Outfitters is perfectly tailored and reasonably priced at $68. The color is perfect too, not too dark and not too light (jeesh, I sound like goldilocks).

Cropped Twill Jacket

Sorry folks, but I have been traveling for a few days and consistently posting stuff was a little tricky. But I am back and will try to make it up to you over the next few days because I am traveling again this weekend, this time for fun. Anyhow, check out this cute little cropped jacket at La Redoute for only $29.99. Perfect topper for the springtime, since the weather is still not cooperating with me.

Button & Belt Jacket

Since I am getting ready for a trip to New Orleans, its only fitting for me to post an item from one of my favorite crescent city boutiques, Hemlines. Check out this black and white striped jacket for only $84. You could totally rock this item as a dress.

Leather Biker Jacket

If you are looking for an affordable leather biker jacket to add a little edginess to your spring looks, here's a Kate Moss-inspired option at Asos for only $187.09. I really like the belt around the bottom of the jacket and the zippers along the sleeves.

Elle at Kohls

In doing this blog, I really want to post a good mix of items that are run the gamut when it comes to cost. And lately, I feel like maybe I haven't been doing as good of a job hunting for budget-friendly items. So I apologize and I will try to mix it up a bit. Ultimately, I post stuff that I find interesting and that I like, so sometimes cost is an after-thought. And I don't mean that in a "i have enough money to not have to worry about the cost of something" because that couldn't be further from my reality. But I am adding the item to my blog, not too my shopping cart, so its not like I have to be super aware of my total. Which brings me to this jacket at Kohl's. Its on sale, offered in every size still, and comes in a very non-boring color...what more could a girl ask for? The Ponte Jacket is part of the Elle Contemporary Collection, which I haven't really checked out yet. Basing my first impression on this piece, I'd say so far so good.

Denim Cap Sleeve Jacket

I am a big fan of Omiru Style for All, which I highly recommend checking out, and in getting the skinny on the Ready Made Outfit Post (check it out, especially the jacket), I found myself perusing Top Shop. And as luck would have it, I stumbled upon this cap-sleeved jacket. Its definitely not your run-of-the-mill jean jacket. And its less than $100.

Fend off the Rain in Zebra Stripes

How fabulous is this Via Spiga belted sateen coat? As much as I have hoped otherwise, my masterplan of willing warmer temperatures has not worked to my liking and I have found myself needing a coat for the past three days (again). This coat would look amazing with just about anything, from dresses to jeans and Bluefly has almost every size imaginable in stock.

Short Trench

I believe that trench coats work so effortlessly with so many things, that I have several in different colors. What I don't have is a shorter length option, which I think would work really well for someone of petite stature (since I can imagine that the longer coats could drown a gal). Banana Republic has this short trench in four colors. I really like the parade green, but the lyme bay blue and the rainbow red are on sale for $109.99 (regularly $148).

Swiss Dot Jacket

I love this jacket. It's very feminine and the sweetheart neckline and ruffle are lovely. Arden B carries a matching skirt and shorts, but I think I would pair it with a pair of wide-legged white trousers (Banana Republic carries some great options, especially for petites and talls). And it won't blow your budget at $118.

Sunny Trench

I promise I am not obsessed with the color yellow. There's just so much yellow to choose from this spring and this Michael Kors trench is lovely and on sale at Bluefly for $108. Had I not just snagged a new white trench, this would be on its way to my closet.
